I spent the last 6 months working on a new book, The Knotting and Braiding Bible, which will be out next year. One of the techniques is Kumihimo and I was inspired to create this piece for the 2014 Autumn/ Winter Launch of Swarovski Elements. Like all designs it take a bit of trial and error to get the design right!
Downsized my crochet cuff design to fit into a three hour workshop for the Knitting and Stitching show at Harrogate.
With summer weddings and graduation balls around this time – I thought it a good idea to post a Make Jewellery magazine feature from November last year. I just loved working with the cup chain and silver silk cord to create the fabulous necklace, earrings, bracelet and hair comb
Really enjoyed creating this design using the new Lochrose Molecule Beads. I made the wire rings by hand and then wired it all together using these fantastic square fancy stones in the new rose gold. There is a pair of earrings and matching bracelet too and all instructions are in this month’s Make Jewellery magazine.
This design for the Swarovski Launch, Spring 2014 is the most advanced embroidered piece that I have done. Embroidered onto Lacey’s Stiff Stuff, some of the Fancy Stones were inserted into settings and stitched in place, others attached using a beaded bezel before filling in the background with seed beads and Swarovski Elements.
Designed to coordinate with the crochet bib I designed for the Swarovski Launch, and it’s quicker to make! You can make both the cuff and bib necklace from one reel of S-Lon. The XILIONS are added as you crochet and then other beads including the new Rose Gold square stones once it is pressed. Finish the cuff with a 7 loop slider fastening.
For those who like crochet, this is a stunning design that is easy to make using simple shaping and basic double and treble stitches. The crochet bib is embellished with the new rose gold square fancy stone as well as new light silk and amethyst square mini-beads.
Another new design showcasing the new rose gold colour and fabulous Cabochet pendant. These earrings feature round stones in settings, wired together with rose gold Crystal pearls, and a gorgeous seed bead and XILION right angle weave ring.
Just back from the new Swarovski Elements launch for spring/summer 2014. I was demonstrating several techniques including this fabulous cuff design using the new Globe beads and gorgeous Lemon Fancy stone. The technique is interwoven wirework – instructions to follow shortly.
Delighted as usual to see one of my designs in Make Jewellery magazine and even better the cover story. This necklace used the new mini beads from Swarovski Elements as well as the fabulous key pendant.
